Has Monsanto Dug Too Deep A Hole??

with 3 comments

An old saying is: If you find yourself in a hole. Stop digging.

I’m going to take a while to lay out my case here, so please be patient, there is a method to my madness.

My question is whether or not Monsanto Company has dug themselves into such a deep hole, they have no recourse but to continue digging until they come out on the other side of the planet?

Specifically, in relation to the glyphosate based herbicidal product Roundup (the name patented by Monsanto for their glyphosate based herbicide)). Various studies have been pandered by all of the parties concerned, those who believe Roundup is the agri-savior of humanity and those who believe Roundup is the root cause of all evil and current spikes in cancer, autism, Colony Collapse Disorder and I suppose acne in pre-pubescent goats.

To be clear here and as a full disclaimer; I do  not have a degree in biochemistry, chemistry in general, mathematics, statistics or even a degree of any kind! Also, I do use Roundup in specific and very limited areas around my property.

What I do have is a long term general knowledge of growing living things based on growing gardens since I was old enough to walk in my parents garden when I was six or seven. That being the case, I now have six decades of experience at growing a garden.

Some studies have indicated Colony Collapse Disorder is being caused by or exacerbated by Roundup. Such as at Natural News and Mother Earth News Those who are proposing the connection are those who advocate a return to fully organic farming methods across the planet. The folks advocating that process never quite get around to explaining how the worlds current population would be fed if we all go back to fully organic farming, but I suppose that is just a detail, not a problem.

The other side of that coin are the various entities with a major stake in promoting herbicide use in general, and specifically Monsanto who makes Roundup.

One thing both sides of the argument have in common is ideology. Extreme ideological differences which of course drive conclusions which may or may not have any basis in real science.

The greater the ideological inclination, the more rabid the response to dissenting opinion becomes. And of course the objectivity which would drive an honest assessment of the evidence is lost, and is never missed by either side.

So, then back to the basic question proposed by this written muse. Has Monsanto dug so deep a hole in supporting Roundup that they simply can’t give in to any findings which would support an opposing view that Roundup is harmful to the surroundings?

That does seem likely, despite Monsanto’s well earned profits, those would vanish in a heartbeat if Roundup was found to cause any or even one of the multitude of maladies so may “Earth Conscious” groups suggest are based on their “scientific studies”

Should Roundup be banned? That seems unlikely based on available science at this point. Is it a good idea to spray the weeds in your garden with Roundup? My personal opinion is: Hell NO!

Will I continue to use Roundup along the street and fence lines to keep the weeds under control and to reduce the fire danger in this rural California foothill area? Of course I will. Will I spray the herbicide where it might have any chance of entering the aquifer? Not until the CEO of Monsanto is willing to drink a Roundup cocktail.

Lets be real, poisons are poisons because they kill things.

Will Monsanto become the 21st Century version of USRC (United States Radium Company) and the Radium Dial company who offered young women good jobs in 1917 to paint clock and watch dials with radium?

The Forgotten Story of The Radium Girls is found here at Buzzfeed.

The Water Nazi’s Are Back

with 3 comments

Here on the Left Coast of the US, in the People’s Republic of California, the Water-Nazi’s are back at work attempting to usurp the riparian rights which have been in existence since before this was actually a state.

The Hydro-Nazi’s, who are commonly known as the State Water Resources Control Board have given the people of the state of California until April 7, 2017 to offer “public comments” on what amounts to a vast take over of the property of every citizen in the state of California who has a well on their property.

At the Hydro-Nazi website is what they have titled “A Draft Emergency Regulation for State Intervention Fees” Yes, that is how it reads, not only are the Hydro-Nazi’s ging to take control of our wells, they now intend to charge a n annual fee for the right to pump water out of the ground under our property!. $300 is the number the Hydro-Nazi’s are suggesting they will start with.

All of this is done under the authority they granted to themselves under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA,) At this point in time, the groundwater management plan the State has decided on implementing will go into effect on July 1, 2017. We The People have until Aprl 7, 2017 to offer comments on the plan. Does anyone who reads this actually believe the State is going to listen to what we have to say?

Does anyone believe the State will back down from implementing their draconian control measures if We The People are righteously indignant about being forced to add a meter between our well and our house?

Would any rational person believe the State is going to overlook this chance to charge an annual $300 fee on every well owner in the State? (if you do, you’ve bumped your head)

On top of the annual fee, there will also be usage fees put in place for those who dare to steal the water which obviously belongs to the State of California. At the fees schedule website is the full legal mumbo jumbo which explains when and how much each well owner,  who also has to file an annual report, will be expected to pay to the State. An excerpt follows.

Section XXXX.1 Annual Fee Schedule. Except as provided in section XXX.1, any person required to file a report shall submit to the board an annual fee in accordance with the following schedule: (a) For persons required to file a report pursuant to Water Code section 5202(a)(2) who are not required to file a report pursuant to Water Code section 5202(a)(1): (1) The annual fee is $300 per well plus one of the following volumetric charges:

(A) $10 per acre-foot of groundwater extracted during the preceding water year if the person uses a meter to measure groundwater extractions and certifies on a form provided by the Board that the measurements were made using a meter. (B) $25 per acre-foot of groundwater extracted during the preceding water year if the person does not use a meter to measure groundwater extractions or fails to certify on a form provided by the Board that the measurements were made using a meter.

Please note that the above charges and circumstances are not the end of the intrusion into our property rights. If we fail to toe the line and don’t file the report on time, there is an additional “annual fee” which is 25% of the initial fee.

In the spirit of magnanimity  though, the State Hydro-Nazi’s have decided the additional fee should not exceed $1,200 for any one year. Generous of them don’t you think?

Section XXXX.2 Exceptions. The following exceptions to section XXX.1 applies for annual fees for the water year ending September 30, 2017, for which the annual fee will be one of the following: (a) For persons extracting groundwater in an area that is within the management area of an agency by September 30, 2017, the annual fee is waived. (b) For persons not subject to subdivision (a)(1), the annual fee is $300 per well with no additional volumetric charge. (c) For persons who fail to file a report by December 15, 2017, the annual fee shall include an additional charge of $100, plus $100 for each 30-day period after December 15, 2017 in which the report has not been filed. In no case shall the additional charge exceed $1,200.

The overbearing Hydro-Nazi’s are so generous in their own minds I’m sure they see this list of exceptions as some sort of ameliorative measure to keep us in thrall of their abundant care and concern for We The People.

I’m afraid however, they have sorely misjudged us in Northern California. If ever there was an impetus to move faster in the search for a route to seceding from the Sacramento Morons and to begin the journey to freedom in the Great State of Jefferson, then perhaps we’ve found that impetus.

Is it possible this is what it will take to prod every Northern Californian to join the effort to exercise our right to self-governance?

Is this what it takes to move forward toward a representative government?

Is it possible this is why we  need to reassert our demand to be represented, rather than to be controlled by self-righteous loonies from Southern California?

That would be the same group of geniuses who built a city (LA) in the middle of a desert and decided it would be OK to drain the water from Northern California to support the idiotic plan.

For those wishing to offer comments to the Hydro-Nazi Water Board, the email address is: commentletters@waterboards.ca.gov. These must be presented in PDF format and shall not exceed 15mb.

For those who would prefer to send an actual letter to the Hydro-Nazi Water Board the address is:

NHS vs. Obamacare and Death Panels – Happening Sooner Instead Of Later

with 2 comments

I will get to how the current iteration of Death Targets at the NHS are joined at the hip to Obamacare Death Panels, but first let me set the stage.

Over at the British online version of The Telegraph is an article y Sarah Napton on a small uproar being caused by a United Nations mandate to prioritize ‘younger’ citizens for healthcare in the UK.  With the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals program in place, those over 70 years of age will be openly discriminated against for medical services in a system already stretched thin by the socialized medicine model being used.

A professor of social policy and international development at the University of East Anglia, Prof Peter Lloyd-Sherlock happens to be the lead author in a letter written and published in The Lancet.

In that letter prof. Lloyd-Sherlock states: “This premature mortality target is highly unethical, since it unjustifiably discriminates against older people.

The reasoning behind Lloyd-Sherlock’s letter is the insistence by the UN on a goal of targeting only younger citizens to reduce the mortality rate for certain diseases. Diseases such as stroke, dementia, cancer and diabetes. Even a cursory glance at the list of diseases would lead anyone, including a lay person to recognize those diseases are age related! In the article Lloyd-Sherlock is quoted as saying:

“The targets are not quite set in stone yet, so we have a final opportunity to impress upon the UN the need to alter this explicitly ageist health target.

That statement begs the question of when did the UK give up their right to sovereignty to the UN? Is a mandate by the UN to be laid down as law by the UK now, with no thoughts of just saying “No thank you, nice of you to offer, but still, no thanks”

Now, you may have already asked yourself why all of the fuss over at the NHS is of any relevance to those of us sitting in the US of A where we have had the finest medical system on the planet for decades. The answer is a simple one to answer, for those who have been paying attention to the ramifications of the socialized healthcare most popularly known as Obamacare.

The elimination of available options for privately held healthcare, in a move toward a single payer system (socialized medicine i.e. NHS) was the underlying goal of Obamacare, and those goals are being met. Currently, finding an affordable health plan which a private citizen can purchase from an insurer is a case study in frustration. Our choices are limited to very high premiums with low deductibles, or slightly lower premiums with bizarrely high deductibles.

Paul Gregory wrote an article in Forbes noting the dissatisfaction of the left with the disaster that Obamacare had become, and that was in 2013. In the article Paul Krugman, the Liberal Icon (or Moron depending on your point of view) of Reason is quoted as saying:

“Imagine, now, a much simpler system in which the government just pays your major medical expenses. In this hypothetical system you wouldn’t have to shop for insurance, nor would you have to provide lots of personal details. The government would be your insurer, and you’d be covered automatically by virtue of being an American. Of course, we don’t have to imagine such a system, because it already exists. It’s called Medicare, it covers all Americans 65 and older, and it’s enormously popular. So why didn’t we just extend that system to cover everyone?”

And then there are the other folks in the room. No they aren’t any more adults than the Liberal Democrats, they’re just the former and current crop of Corporate Welfare promoting Republicans… the GOP standard bearers who whined and moaned and piddled in their diapers when Hillary-Care was being touted by none other than the presumptive (at one time) Democratic Presidential Hopeful (hopeless) Hillary Rodham C.

Strangely enough, at the LA Times is an article lambasting those same GOP buffoons, and lamenting all of the problems with Obamacare, and ending the article with a plea to just finally do it – give us a Single Payer Health Care System based on Medicare and lets be done with the problem. Paul Whitefield writes the article and despite his lambasting of the Obamacare health care, he still toes the Liberal Party Line and that will keep him in the good graces of the Liberal Left, I’m certain.

Clearly, Barack Hussein al Obama, the student of Saul Alinsky politics, has his agenda planned, clearly he has funding from both internal and overt socialist money sources, and possibly from socialist sources external to the USA who use shell corporations, along with Super PACs, and assorted funding routes to further his agenda. One question surrounding all of the money flow into the sham of advocating for affordable health care is: How long will the American Public remain complacent and continue to put up with the lies, fraud and deceit? It pays to notice that none of the Uber-left Democrats will ever wake up, nor will they ever make any noise which might be construed as a negative statement regarding a Single Payer System for healthcare. That includes those who send their own parents, and grandparents to the death panels. A Good Socialist never fails to remain in lock-step with the Party Platform and Ten Year Plan.

One salient hope we of the Conservative Right still have though is one person who is on the radio five days a week attempting to enlighten the masses. Rush Limbaugh is still showing up for work and doing his best to bring sanity and a joke or two to the fight against this Liberal Left Coup. For the Rush 24/7 folks out there, doing a search of the archives shows Rush engaging the enemy all the way back to the beginning.

If the teachers unions were as interested in teaching students the art of critical thinking instead of simply trying to indoctrinate them into 21st Century Saul Alinsky Neophytes, maybe they would push the current administration to provide a Single Payer Rush 24/7 access at every school in the country. Don’t hold your breath though, that might be hazardous to your health and you could wind up in the mess which our health care system is devolving in to.

Craig’s List Jeep Ad – Manly Stuff

with 11 comments

Every once in a while, something good  comes along, and it gives me hope for the planet and my nation…not very often these days, but once in a while it happens.

A (not quite a)”Gentleman” was selling his Jeep Sahara on Craig’s List and wrote a piece of Americana Poetry as an ad for it.

The ad appears to my jaded eye to cover everything there is to being a stereotypical Red-Neck American Male…and I like it. I’m not absolutely positive about this, but I think I grew more chest hair just reading the ad.

Here in all its glory – The Ad:Craigslist-Jeep

I should start by saying that if you are looking for a “Pajama party Barbie Jeep” you my friend, should keep looking. If you are looking for a short description of to the beast before you, I can offer you two words “MEAT & POTATOES”. This is the All American chariot of the free world.

You are not dealing with any ordinary, cookie cutter Jeep son. This thing was forged from a single block of all American Tungsten Steel. Real sturdy! From that day forward my life has never been the same. Winch yourself off that couch and see if you can handle this Jeep Wrangler Sahara.

So if you are looking for a rice burning hatch back, a solar powered liberal mobile, or even a Hyundai crossover keep on looking my friend this thing is a piece of red white and blue Americana Machinery.

This baby’s pulse is pumping 4.0 liters of uncensored raw fuel through her straight six nuclear power plant. And rest assured this is no metro feminine automatic. . .you command her to obey, with your calloused hand planted firmly on the shifter. And she will obey, the first time, every time. If you can’t handle your stick shifter, or reach the clutch pedal, you better not ferry skip over here wanting to test drive her. If you stall her out, you can count on getting hit in the face with a piece of re-bar and sent back where you came from.

It has A/C but are you kidding me….Really! If you want to blow the sweat off your brow, you do it the old fashioned way: doors off, top down. “What if it rains?”. . .You whiney bitch! I told you to stop reading. . . Any man who drives this beast doesn’t give a damn about rain. Not even skin melting acid rain, Cause he’s already dripping wet in blood, sweat, dip spit, and fish guts.

If you are looking for the kind of jeep that has to be pansy parked in the garage, so the “carpet doesn’t get wet and soggy” Then you should plant your Obama sticker on some Japanese piece of shit. Cause this thing has drain holes in the floor and rhino lined to let the blood drain out from the buffalo you just killed, with your bare hands. Because you are William Wallace from Braveheart and when you get home you can leave your “sissy sponge glove car wash kit” in the pink bucket it came in. Go ahead and spark up your 6000 psi heated pressure washer on the dually trailer in your man cave, cause you are Tim Gillespie and you can pressure wash your truck on the inside. She’s got rhino lined floors with a full roll cage in case that buffalo comes back to life while you’re doing 80 over some mountain pass or flooded river.

If you’re thinking about Mexican chrome bumpers for her, think again. The bumper bashers come hand forged in a blacksmith shop in Franklin County over a wood burnin fire, out of 4 inch well casing, and railroad tracks and then I welded em to the damn chassis. That way if you get deployed you can piggy back this war wagon on a deuce and a half and chain her down tight from the four corners, so you don’t lose her when your convoy gets hit by a taliband roadside suicide bomber.

And forget about putting one of those “It’s a Jeep Thing. . .You wouldn’t understand” stickers on this machine cause when you’re spotted in this American Classic there will be no questions, no further explanation required, people will understand and get out of your way. . …real quick.

If you think you’re ready to park this panty hauler on your tract of land. If you buy this jeep you better go get your old lady ready for some damn changes around your lair, cause this shit will be happening. What will be Happening? Glad you asked….

Sharing the Gospel of Christ with A Friend

with 10 comments

Sharing the Gospel of Christ with A Friend
Are You Willing to take the risk? It might be worth it.

Most of us have friends, or even a best friend who doesn’t have a personal relationship with Christ, even if that friend does attend church. Too often the focus of teaching salvation often seems to become a race to find, fund and travel to a “New Missions Trip”.

Whether that mission is simply traveling to the closest city and preaching to the homeless, or perhaps to an unreached population in another country is sometimes deemed to be irrelevant as long as we’re reaching out and moving in a ministry of salvation.

Those ministries aren’t wrong at all, they are absolutely necessary in the larger scheme of reaching all the nations, and all the people who are so hungry for the answers only Christ is capable of providing. It is possible however, to miss those who are closest to us, simply because they are so close. Another instance of where the trees are making it impossible to see the forest.

Do those who are closest to us get passed over in our desire to fulfill the Great Commission because the risk of losing a friend, or at the least, alienating a friend is outside our comfort zone?

The Great Commission:

16-17 Meanwhile, the eleven disciples were on their way to Galilee, headed for the mountain Jesus had set for their reunion. The moment they saw him they worshiped him. Some, though, held back, not sure about worship, about risking themselves totally.

18-20 Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”

 –The Message Matthew 28: 16-20

Or for those who are traditionalists:

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.  KJV Matthew 28: 16-20

In that simple statement, Christ gave each of us throughout our lives, a task to complete to the best of our ability. Save the unsaved. And then another piece of the task is offered by Christ through the Apostle Luke.

45-49 He went on to open their understanding of the Word of God, showing them how to read their Bibles this way. He said, “You can see now how it is written that the Messiah suffers, rises from the dead on the third day, and then a total life-change through the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed in his name to all nations—starting from here, from Jerusalem! You’re the first to hear and see it. You’re the witnesses. What comes next is very important: I am sending what my Father promised to you, so stay here in the city until he arrives, until you’re equipped with power from on high.”  – The Message Luke 24:46-49

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 And ye are witnesses of these things. KJV Luke 24:46-48

Notice in this passage, the need to begin in Jerusalem, not in Asia, or Samaria, but in Jerusalem. It’s as if when He came back to show those who had followed Him, and who were still having trouble trying to believe in His resurrection, they should continue what Christ began. Christ didn’t leave his home town and go to Asia, and didn’t even start His ministry in another town apparently, he got His brothers on board by providing a witness.A daily witness, one which none of the Sadducee’s, or Pharisee’s were able to match or even come close to.

That witness seems to have won over those who are the most difficult to win, our family, and our friends. The people who would have seen us when we might be out of sorts, or had the flu and were puking our guts out.

Christ wants all of us saved, it is His desire that none should perish, but all should have everlasting life, and it begins where we are. Should we place our comfort level above the desire of The Father and His Son? Never.

Yes, it is hard to proselytize our friends, it can be uncomfortable, it can even place us at risk of losing a friend! Better however, that we lose a friend than our friend would lose eternity. And it need not even be that large a risk, if we take on the task as one which isn’t based on beating our friends over the head with a Bible, but is instead one of providing a daily witness of what it is to walk in the love, and forgiveness of Christ.

In our daily witness there will come the day when our closest friend is puzzled about why we have the joy they are so hungry for and can’t quite achieve. It’s at that time, when our witness prompts the question, that we have the chance to offer the real solution to the emptiness of chasing an empty world.

Is it worth the risk of losing a friend, when the chance of gaining a Brother or Sister in Christ is so real?

Emmet Fox quote; this is on target

with 2 comments

Out pastor today quoted Emmet Fox, not a man or quote I’d heard before. It did however hit a note of reality for me. How often do we fail, simply because we fail at the Greatest Commandment?

It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble; how hopeless the outlook; how muddled the tangle; how great the mistake. A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all. If only you could love enough you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world.
